Orlando Brown Apologizes for Going MIA
Former That's So Raven co-star Orlando Brown issued an apology for worrying his family, friends and fans after his brief disappearance last Tuesday, claiming he 'needed to be alone.' In a statement, Brown, 20, thanked fans for their support and apologized for not informing anyone of his whereabouts for over 24 hours. Brown, who is a musician as well as an actor, said he dropped out of sight after a problem last week involving a scheduled performance at Club Tattoo in Los Angeles. After the incident, the statement said, he "felt a little lost and needed to get away. It got a bit overwhelming and I needed to be alone," he said.
Brown's publicist, who had earlier confirmed that he was missing, denied that the disappearance was a publicity stunt. "It was not a hoax," the rep says. 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - signed Olivia in 2004, but after the release of just three singles, she was dropped from G-Unit Records last year (07).
And 50 insists things started to go wrong when Olivia collaborated with Missy Elliot on her single Cherry Pop - joking that Missy's close personal relationship with his protege resulted in the breakdown of his own ties with the rising star.
He says, "She (Olivia) went to work with Missy and it got kinda crazy like. It got crazy because Missy was trying to own her a little bit... I think Missy hit that."

Wesley Snipes is Going to Jail
Just hours before he was sentenced for failing to pay $5 million dollars in taxes, Wesley Snipes cut several checks for the unpaid revenue and had the checks delivered to court.
The move so surprised federal prosecutors that they at first declined the money. Snipes was still given the maximum 3 years in a federal prison for refusing to pay his taxes over a 10-year period.

Snipes, who had previously maintained he had the legal right not to pay taxes, read aloud from a prepared apology, calling his actions “costly mistakes” but never mentioning the word “taxes.”
A judge has sentenced actor Wesley Snipes to 3 years in a federal penitentiary for tax evasion.
The feds don’t play when it comes to cheating Uncle Sam out of his loot! They don’t care who you are, the main goal is to send out a loud and clear message. Never mind that the biggest tax cheats work for the federal government:

Hochman, Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Tax Division, said, “Snipes’ long prison sentence should send a loud and crystal clear message to all tax defiers that if they engage in similar tax defier conduct, they face joining him and his co-defendants … as inmates in prison.”
Snipes was convicted in February on three misdemeanor charges for not filing his taxes. The government claimed he owed $2.7 mil — but Snipes’ attorneys argued it was just $228,000. No fine was imposed, but the three-year sentence was the max he could have gotten.
Snipes didn’t have to turn himself in immediately. The judge ruled he could surrender at a later date. Maybe the judge forgot about the time Snipes fled to Africa last year to avoid capture by the feds. Source

Mom and Daughter Beat the Teacher DOWN
Posted April 24, 2008 – An Atlanta teacher says she was beat down by a student and the student’s mother following an argument over a grade. Police say they arrested Georgia Thornton, 44, and her 17-year-old daughter, Sequita, for assaulting Felecia Williams, who teaches at Southside High School in late February.
The mother was charged with battery on a school teacher, disrupting public schools and criminal trespassing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Sequita, who was permanently expelled from Southside, was charged with battery on a teacher and disrupting public schools, the report says. She must also pay $500 toward the teacher's medical expenses, Joe Manguno, a spokesman for Atlanta Public Schools, told the Journal-Constitution.
Williams said she had called a meeting with the mother to discuss her daughter’s grades and shaky attendance. A couple weeks later, Thornton and her daughter walked into Williams’ classroom and began arguing about a book, the newspaper reports. When Williams asked them to leave, the mother pushed past her and grabbed the book off her desk. Witnesses told police that when Williams tried to get the book back, the mother pulled the teacher’s hair and threw her to the ground, while Sequita stomped the teacher.
"She was swinging me by my hair, and my shoes flew off my feet," Williams said, the Journal-Constitution reports. "Then I was on the ground, and they were both pounding on me. I was terrified. So were my students."
Georgia Thornton said that Williams had hit her daughter, according to a police report. She said that she was angry because the teacher was robbing her Sequita on a grade.

Orlando Brown of TV’s That’s So Raven has been missing since early Tuesday morning, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
The 20-year-old reportedly left his manager’s house around 10:20 a.m. to make a quick trip to 7-Eleven and has not been seen since. According to Brown’s publicist, Elayne Rivers, he had a full day of meetings and appointments in preparation for a photo shoot Wednesday.
Rivers adds that friends and family are very concerned, as the young actor is not one to be out of touch for long, and the convenience store was within a short walking distance from his manager’s home in Studio City.

Star Jones Files For Divorce
Former "View" host Star Jones filed for divorce from her husband Al Reynolds, "Entertainment Tonight" is reporting. Jones filed back on March 26. The couple married back in 2004. She released a statement that reads: "Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. Meagan Good Got Another Job
After doing the horror flick One Missed Call this year, looks like Meagan Good can’t get enough of these gorey flicks and will be stepping it up in Saw V.
According to Comingsoon.net, the actress will play Luba, a city planner who comes from an extremely affluent family. Will she be a victim of one of jigsaw’s many traps? I don’t know, but the costars of these movies don’t always end up too good. I also know some of you would oddly enough - like to see Meagan go through that.
Miss Good is working on a number of projects this year, including the film The Love Guru with Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake. Saw V is set for release October 24th…

The State's Attorney's Office says the policy has prevented weak cases from going forward and has improved police investigations of homicides. Prosecutors first declined to prosecute one-witness cases in 2001. The policy was fully-implemented in 2003 and prosecutors say it has led to a higher conviction rate.

Wow, that's really disturbing to know. That ispart of the reason right there why so many people won't talk to the police about crimes. I mean, if there has to be two witnesses and your trying to be one, your a definate target. Especially when the bad guy knows straight off the back; that nothings going to happen if the second witness can't talk. I think this law is absurd.

Annapolis man charged with molesting daughter
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Map, News) - Annapolis Police say they've arrested a city man who allegedly molested his daughter and watched her take showers.
The 15-year-old girl was telling a friend about her father's activities Tuesday and police say her friend told school officials. Social Services staff and police interviewed the girl and learned he had allegedly molested her several times over the past year.
She told police he would also stand outside her bathroom window and watch her take a shower. Police interviewed her mother who said she knew about the abuse and thought she'd addressed it.
The 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night on child abuse, peeping tom and sexual assault charges.
WOW....Did she say she thought she had addressed it.....Priceless.....

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore City police said they've arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl in an east Baltimore rowhouse.
Police said Shawndreta Griffin, a seventh-grader at Booker T. Washington Middle School, was found shot in the head in a home in the 1900 block of North Patterson Park Avenue at about 9 a.m. Monday.
Police spokeswoman Officer Nicole Monroe said the suspect, identified as Charles Jakes, 18, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the case.
The victim's sister, Asia Griffin, said the family last saw the girl Sunday night and that a single phone call changed their lives.
"The day before yesterday, my mother had called her phone ... and homicide picked up," Asia Griffin said.
"I want him to be charged. I want his family to feel what I'm feeling. She was just a baby. She didn't even have a chance to grow up," said Jodi Griffin, the victim's mother.
According to police, Jakes and Shawndreta were dating, but the victim's family said that the two were just friends and that Jakes was involved in a gang.
Jodi Griffin said she can't explain what her daughter was doing at Jakes' home Monday morning -- the same home where police found her body.
"She had no business there. She should have been in school. I don't know how that came about," Jodi Griffin said.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

BALTIMORE (Map, News) - The Baltimore teen charged with killing a 14-year-old girl said the fatal shooting was accidental, according to charging documents.
“It was a mistake,” Charles Jakes, 18, said Monday at Union Memorial Hospital with Baltimore Police Officer Alfredo Santiago standing next to him. “I didn’t mean to kill shorty.”
9:12 a.m. Monday, police responded to a call for a shooting in the 1900 block of N. Patterson Park Avenue in East Baltimore, where they found Shaundretta Griffin, 14, suffering from a gunshot would to the head. Griffin was lying in a bed in the home’s basement, naked from the waist down, according to charging documents.
Jakes, Griffin’s boyfriend, also was in the home suffering from a gunshot wound to his right thumb, police said.
Griffin was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Annete Hill, Jakes’ mother, told police that she was in the kitchen when she heard a single gunshot come from the basement. Hill rushed downstairs to see Griffin bleeding from a head wound and her son saying, “I didn’t mean to kill her,” police said.
After being discharged from the hospital, Jakes refused to talk with homicide detectives, who then charged him with first-degree murder Tuesday.
Jakes has had several other run-ins with law enforcement, court records show.
In a waiver hearing on Feb. 28, Baltimore City prosecutors recommended that Jakes be tried as an adult in several cases, including charges of burglary, assault and bringing a knife to school. He had been committed to the Maryland Department of Juvenile Justice for more than a year, returning to Baltimore from a facility in Ohio in January, court records show.
Indicted by a Baltimore City grand jury on March 6, Jakes was held on a $1 million bail until April 2, when he pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree assault and was sentenced to time served.
He had been out of jail for less than two weeks when Griffin was fatally shot.
At the time of the shooting, Jakes' mother and another woman were in the house. Three small children were also sleeping on the third floor, charging documents say. After Jakes was treated and released from the hospital, he was taken to the police homicide unit, where investigators tried to interview him. But Jakes refused to make any statements, charging documents say.Jakes is being held without bail and is expected to have a bail review this morning at the Central Booking and Intake Center.Earlier this month, Jakes was placed on three years' supervised probation as part of his conviction in other crimes. On April 2, he pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and second-degree assault, and other charges -- including possession of a knife on school grounds -- were dropped as part of his plea, court records show.A judge sentenced him to five years in prison, suspended the entire sentence, and then placed him on probation.

One of LisaRaye's friends has accused her husband, the Premire of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Michael Misick, of rape. There is not a lot of info right now, like nobody knows which one of LisaRaye's friends was allegedly assaulted, but I'm sure it will all come out soon. They say right after the alleged assault the woman reported the crime to the Turks and Caicos police, and once she returned to the United States, she reported it to the FBI.In a statement to the press, Lisa's husband said, "My fellow Turks and Caicos Islanders, a few days ago, an American female, after leaving the Turks and Caicos Islands, made a false report to law enforcement officials in the United States that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted by me. Vanilla Ice in Jail Again For Domestic Violence
Vanilla Ice was arrested at his Palm Beach, FL home last night for kicking (KICKING?!?) and striking his wife after an altercation. Wipe me down.
According to South Florida’s Sun-Sentinel, Vanilla Ice, born Robert Van Winkle was originally accused of striking and kicking his wife, Laura Van Winkle during an argument.
Vanilla Ice, 40, told police that he and his wife had been arguing since Wednesday, when he left there house to avoid an altercation.
He returned sometime last night and the married couple fought again.
By the time the police arrived at the Van Winkle’s home, the rapper’s wife told police she did not want any media attention and that he only pushed her.
Vanilla Ice was charged with domestic battery. He denied pushing or striking his wife.
The rapper served one year’s probation, after pleading no contest to a domestic violence charge in 2001, after he allegedly pulled hair from his wife’s head during an argument on Interstate 595. (Source)

Bobby Speaks Out About His Book and Whitney Again
Bobby Brown speaks out about his upcoming autobiography "Being Bobby Brown: The Truth, The Whole Truth And Nothing But... Regarding the reports suggesting that this book is nothing more than a nasty expose and rampant attack on Whitney. Brown says:
"That couldn't be farther from 'the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. I don't have anything bad to say about her. She should have no worries. There's no mess in this book. The book is really good. I'm not a complex person. I'm just trying to maintain a certain amount of integrity - and a certain amount of bad boy-ness. I think the story needs to be told from my point of view. I still have kids that are in school right now so I have to do what I have to do. Daddy doesn't stop working."
Derrick Handspike, the guy who helped Brown write the book, talks about what to expect when the book is released on May 13th; specifically Brown's heroin overdose and what really happened on the night Whitney called the cops to accuse Brown of physically assaulting her.
In an interview with Fox411 columnist Roger Freidman, Handspike, who happens to be an Atlanta hip-hop producer and author of several other books, revealed that Brown suffered a stroke from the overdose. "No one knows that," he told Friedman. "He had a stroke. They said he had a heart attack but he had a stroke." In the book, Brown says his heart stopped three times and he had to be revived with shock paddles.
According to Handspike, Brown also admits to hitting Houston. "He considered it horse play," he said. "The reason Whitney called the police was that he laughed at her and then left. She said, 'You think you’re going to just walk away from this?' Then she called the police."
When asked the motive behind dishing dirt on ex-wife Whitney Houston, Handspike answered: "We are very wealthy from this already." Handspike intimated that there are "investors," adding, "It’s a joint-venture kind of thing." Brown's publicists are said to have adopted an aggressive game plan to promote the book. T. I. Speaks Out About New Song Hunt 'Em Down
A new song is floating around on the internet called. Hunt 'Em Down. There have been whispers that it is the first single off of his new album. But it's not and T.I. wants to make sure everyone knows that.
Alot of people think the new song is the first single off his new album Paper Trail album. Thank Lord T.I. issued a statement and asked that the song not be mistaken as a part of his upcoming album.
“I just wanted to say to you myself that the record that has been leaked – I
think yall are calling it ‘Hunt Em Down’, when I did it, it was called ‘Got It
Now’ - It is an unwarranted, unauthorized release," T.I. says. “It is not a
Paper Trail selection, it is not of the same standards and the same quality as
the records that I’m doing right now so I don’t want anybody to get it
misconstrued that that’s the first single.”
He thanked those who enjoyed the song but promised that the music he has coming from Paper Trail would be far superior to the song leaked to the public. T.I. then explains the origins of the song.

Method Man Getting His Grown Man On
Method Man and his fellow Wu-Tang member, GZA, are teaming up with Street Life to bring faithful Wu-Tang fans a new double disc full of the Wu's hottest material.
The project, called "Back To Back : Raw And Uncut," will be a double CD along with a DVD which features live footage of Meth, Street Life & GZA along with Cappadonna on stage performing most of the hits from the CD, plus behind the scenes footage of Method Man on tour.
The album will include such Wu-Tang hits as "Clan in Da Front," "Bring da Ruckus," "Liquid Swords," "Method Man," "Bring the Pain" among it's 30 tracks. The Wu-Tang package is set to hit stores on May 13th.

Say a Prayer for Toni Braxton
LAS VEGAS - (AP) Toni Braxton canceled her Las Vegas show after being hospitalized overnight with chest pains, hotel officials said. The 40-year-old Grammy winner spent Monday night at a Las Vegas hospital and was expected to be released after precautionary tests, Flamingo Las Vegas hotel-casino and Harrah's Entertainment Inc. spokeswoman Deanna Pettit said.
The cause of the chest pain was not immediately known. But Pettit said Braxton, a six-time Grammy winner for songs including "Un-break My Heart" and "Breathe Again," has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.
"We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health," said Don Marrandino, Flamingo president. "We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week."
The hotel was offering refunds to the canceled Tuesday show. Pettit said no immediate decision was made whether Braxton's Wednesday show would be canceled.
Braxton's act, "Toni Braxton: Revealed," also has shows scheduled Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the vintage 720-seat Flamingo Showroom. Her two-year run at the Flamingo began in August 2006.

Damn, I Forgot Foxy Brown Was Still in Jail
Rapper Foxy Brown is expecting to be released from jail early, sometime in the next two weeks - a spokesperson for the star reveals.
Brown - real name Inga Marchand - has been incarcerated in New York's notorious Riker's Island prison since September (07), when she was handed a 12-month sentence for breaking parole conditions.
Her attempts to secure an early release in January (08) failed when a judge rejected her claims she needed treatment in Los Angeles for an ongoing ear condition. But a representative claims she has now secured her freedom, and will be released this month (Apr08).
The spokesperson tells sources, "The past year has been a difficult one for Foxy, but now, the countdown has started. She will be out in the next two weeks, so we are aligning everything for her now."Brown's release will leave her plenty of time to promote her new album Brooklyn's Don Diva, which is to be launched in May (08). She is also planning a reality show to promote the LP.
The rep reveals, "The show will chronicle her life and what's she's been doing. The music business has changed, she's been away for eight months, so the show will show her getting her life back on track."
Go Straight to Jail: MC Breed's Child Support Issues
Genesee County don't play. MC Breed was sentenced to five months in jail Friday (April 4) for failing to pay over $200,000 in child support to three different women. At the hearing, Breed’s lawyer told the judge that his client's career has been on a downslide and that makes it difficult for him to pay the child support. “I've done my best to give back what I can,” Breed told the judge. “You've given back $50 in three years,” the judge responded “That's the best you can do?”
Breed, who now lives in Atlanta, was in his hometown of Flint, MI to do a concert featuring Lil Wayne. Eariler in the day, before the show, Breed was at Music Planet record store signing CDs when the Genesee County Sheriff's deputies showed up and arrested his ass on a warrant for $220,000.00 in back child support.
Your boy hasn't paid nothing to his baby mama in three years and he just got off of a 8 month bid for failure to pay child support. Breed ended up missing the concert because he couldn't come up with the $6,000.00 he needed to post bail.

How did you link up with him initially?
He did some sh*t on [Brandy's TV show] Moesha. So [his crew] came up like, "Biggie wanna get you high." We sat back and smoked. I got his number. The n*gg* hit me the next day to come to the hotel. So me and my homey went up there and chilled. I was about 16. The day he died, I seen him with Puff. I tried to say what’s up to Puff, but Puff didn’t see me. Then I seen Big and he was like, "What’s up, my n*gg*." I hugged Big and the n*gg* smelled like soap. That’s all I remember. He just smelled fresh like, "Damn, he a big n*gg* but he smell like soap."

50 Has His Way. His Baby Mama is Being Evicted
You know what, I didn't know half of what I know now regarding this situation. This chick was scandalous. The judge granted 50 the eviction he wanted.
"I'm a winner. What can I say?" 50 said after a hearing in Suffolk County Housing Court, where Judge Stephen Hackeling OK'd his request to kick Shaniqua Tompkins and his son Marquise out of his Dix Hills mansion.
Shaniqua, 32, said, "Any man who would evict his son out of his house is evil. He's an evil, disgruntled man."
50 said, "To have her living there with her boyfriend and several other people is inappropriate. She's in the house with people I'm not responsible to pay housing for. She doesn't want to work. She doesn't want to do anything. She had a sense of entitlement over me because she was around before I had success."
The judge gave Shaniqua until the end of the school year to get out.

The 12-year-old boy had finished his homework and was playing a video game when he heard his mother cry out. Rushing to her aid, he found her on the kitchen floor, straddled by a fellow resident of their Prince George's County boarding house, the man's hands wrapped tightly around her neck, the boy said yesterday."I kept saying, 'Stop! Stop! Stop!' " the boy said, describing the events of Monday night. "But he just ignored me. He didn't stop. He just kept hurting her."The boy said he grabbed a knife and swung, slashing 64-year-old Salomon Noubissie across the neck and opening an artery. But on another note; you gotta give Bobby Brown some credit about his recent get up and go. It seems that he might really being trying to turn his life around and do what a man and father is supposed to do. With his recent stint on the reality show Going Country and almost immediately following that this new book; dude is getting his finances in order atleast. So that's a plus.
To be honest with you. In the 80's when New Edition was the "it" group. My favorite was always Bobby. For some reason I always like those dark rough neck negro's. When he married Whitney and the drug use got out of control; I always routed for both he and Whitney to hang in there and get it together. Though they didn't hang in there...they are both attempting to get it together.

Art Price of Bellevue, Ohio, was arrested after his next-door neighbor videotaped him doing the wild thing to a metal table.
the 40-year-old was caught stimulating the table butt naked between 10 am and noon.
The table has an umbrella hole in it and he used that to do his business.
The really really sad part is crazy ass is a married man with three school-age children.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been arrested at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 for allegedly spitting at a police officer, Sky News television reported Thursday.

A London Metropolitan Police spokesman said a woman was arrested at the terminal for an assault on police, but refused to disclose her identity or give her age.
The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity in line with force policy.
BAA PLC, the company that runs Heathrow, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday.
British Airways PLC, the terminal's sole occupant, referred questions to BAA.
Campbell, a British fashion model, has a history of getting physical with assistants and employees, and has attended an anger management program.
In 2000, Campbell pleaded guilty in Toronto to an assault charge for beating an assistant while making a film in Canada in 1998. Under an agreement with prosecutors, Campbell expressed remorse and was released without punishment or a criminal record.
In January 2007, Campbell pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault for throwing her mobile phone at her maid in a dispute over a missing pair of jeans.

In February a judge hacked Tomkins’ monthly support checks from $25,000 to $6,700 (her fault, mostly). Tompkins and Marquis were allowed to remain in Jackson’s home on condition that the money be used in part to find a new residence. Fiddy says they didn’t even try and that Tompkins is taking advantage of the situation (gentlemen callers, perhaps?), as the house is in Jackson’s name and all bills are presumably forwarded to one of his faceless accountants in Hollywood.
Paul Catsandonis, Tompkins' lawyer, plans to argue today that an eviction is impossible given that Tompkins is not by definition a tenant. Her residency has always been without a lease agreement, and Catsandonis tells Radar that because Tompkins pays no rent, she cannot be subject to eviction. And besides, her baby's are in school in the neighborhood (a daughter from another man also lives with them).
But Tompkins doesn't stop there.
Though the house officially belongs to Jackson, Tompkins claims it was initially promised to her (some of Jackson's supporters seem to agree) and that Fiddy reneged just prior to closing the sale on the property. Early claims from both sides were that the house was bought so Marquise would have access to quality schooling, but it is unclear where she'd take her son if she got the boot. Fair to say, though, that they wouldn't be able to remain in their current tony district.
Wednesday afternoon a judge denied a motion for an emergency stay of today's hearing. It's probably safe to assume Tompkins' lawyers wanted time to whip up a counter-suit over the home's ownership. The fact that the judge didn't grant the delay probably says he didn't feel the eviction and ownership were related. Yet.

My thinking on this is; 50 needs to get over it. It's a Mans responsibility to make sure his seed is doing well; and the mother of a underaged child is part of the seed.

Man Cooks His Daughter in Microwave
GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — Minutes after a jury sentenced him to 25 years in prison for severely burning his daughter in a microwave, a teary-eyed Joshua Mauldin listened one more time to details about the pain he had caused his child.
His daughter Ana's foster mother fought back tears as she detailed how after being injured, the girl's left hand was so burned that there was no skin, no muscle, no fat, only tendon and bone. Ana suffered second- and third-degree burns to her left ear, cheek, hand and shoulder and has required several skin grafts. Part of her left ear had to be amputated. Her foster mother, Heather Croxton, testified about Ana's screams as she's undergone painful surgeries and physical therapy that will continue for years. "There is no excuse for your actions and I hate that one day you will be set free and allowed to move on with your life while Ana continues to pay for your actions," she told Mauldin during her emotional victim impact statement Wednesday.
Mauldin, 20, was sentenced after jurors deliberated for 6 1/2 hours over two days. They also fined him $10,000. Jurors had rejected Mauldin's claim he was insane at the time he put his then-2-month-old daughter in a Galveston hotel-room microwave and turned it on for 10 to 20 seconds. They convicted him Tuesday of felony injury to a child. Just before putting her in the microwave in May 2007, Mauldin had punched Ana and placed her in the room's safe and refrigerator.
Prosecutors had wanted Mauldin to be sentenced to the maximum of life in prison. But Galveston County prosecutor Xochitl Vandiver said she was satisfied with the decision. Mauldin has to serve at least half his sentence before being eligible for parole. "I feel Ana will be well into adulthood when her father (is paroled) and that in and of itself is a great thing," she said. Sam Cammack III, Mauldin's attorney, had asked jurors to consider his client's long history of mental illness and sentence him to probation so he could be treated at a hospital. Cammack expressed disappointment in the sentence. "He still doesn't get the treatment for mental illness that he needs," Cammack said. "He's not going to get that in prison."
Jurors did not wish to comment after the trial concluded. Prosecutors said Mauldin hurt his daughter because he was angry that he was in a loveless marriage and he didn't want to take care of the infant. They also said Mauldin had a history of violence and of lying about being mentally ill to get out of trouble. Cammack said Mauldin has been wracked by mental illness since he was 10. Mauldin claimed he started hallucinating when he was left alone in the hotel room with his daughter, feeling like mud was running up his body and consuming him. Mauldin at first told police his daughter had been severely sunburned, later changing his story and saying he had accidentally spilled hot water on her while making coffee.
After the sentence was handed down, Joanie Mauldin still insisted her son was insane. She blamed herself for not getting her son help and for Ana's injuries. "I pray he gets help. But I don't see it happening in a penitentiary," she said, insisting her son loved his daughter. "Nobody in their right mind would cook a child." The girl's mother, Eva Mauldin, refused defense attorneys' requests to testify and lives in Arkansas. A trial to terminate the Mauldins' parental rights is scheduled for April.

People magazine is reporting:
According to a source, the pair obtained a license Tuesday morning. The document is valid for 60 days. A rep for Beyoncé told PEOPLE, "No comment." Jay-Z's spokesperson could not be reached.

T. I. Spotted Out and About with Tiny
According to T.I.’s attorney’s, T.I. is not on house arrest for a year as was widely reported last week. “T.I. can go anywhere he wants,” said one of his attorneys. But the rapper needs court approval to attend certain industry events, and he has to adhere to a strict curfew.
Last night, T.I. stepped out on the town with his pregnant girlfriend Tiny. The happy couple attended an exhibit by T.I.’s personal photographer, Derek Blanks.
Despite his newfound freedom, T.I. is still required to wear an electronic monitoring device at all times. He can not leave Georgia without permission and he must complete 1000 hours of community service speaking to troubled youth about the dangers of drugs, guns and gangbanging.
The rapper has been the subject of harsh criticism since pleading guilty to federal weapons charges last week. Many believe he was handed a sweetheart deal by federal prosecutors because he snitched.
Those who accuse T.I. of snitching simply don’t know how the justice system works for affluent people. The key is to hire attorneys who have established good working relationships with the prosecutor and judges.
T.I.’s popularity would have made the case difficult to prosecute in Atlanta anyway. This case wasn’t so much about guns as it was about drugs.
In their zeal to find drugs, federal agents tore T.I.’s front door off it’s hinges, threw stun grenades in the face of his two year old and stomped his teenage nephew.
Instead of finding kilos of cocaine, agents found children’s toys, and a collection of guns - some over 15 years old - tucked away in a safe in the back of his bedroom closet. If the case had gone to trial, evidence would have shown that none of the guns had been recently fired.
Agents didn’t find so much as a burnt joint in the house. It was standard overkill. A case of overzealous federal agents acting on a tip from an informant who may not have been all that reliable.
Sources say T.I. is working overtime in the studio every night to complete his album “Paper Trail”. He and Tiny are eagerly awaiting the birth of their son in May.
I also heard that he started his community service yesterday by speaking with some children at a rec center. The boy is trying. I believe he has a good heart.

The 39-year-old son of O'Jays lead singer Eddie Levert died at Cleveland's Lutheran Hospital late Sunday, less than an hour after he was rushed there from Cuyahoga County jail. He had just begun serving a 22-month sentence for failure to pay child support.
Warden Kevin McDonough said he had been sick, acting strangely and hallucinating before he collapsed in his cell. A cause of death has yet to be determined, and toxicology reports could take four to six weeks, coroner Frank Miller told the AP.

“There are no words that can express what we are feeling today. There is no song that can capture the loss that we have in our hearts," read a statement released Monday by the Levert family. "But we are humbly overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of love, condolences and support from the many friends, fans and admirers of our son Sean. At this very difficult time, we thank you for your prayers and hope you will understand our need for privacy.”

Sean Levert: Strapped To A Chair Before He Died
According to reporter Donna J. Miller from the Cleveland Daily News, singer Sean Levert was chained to a chair before his death.
Sean Levert had been acting strangely at the Cuyahoga County Jail before he died, Warden Kevin McDonough said in a news release.
Levert was at the jail for five days, living among the “general population” there. He then displayed “bizarre behavior” and was put in an observation cell Sunday night. He began shouting and pounding on the cell door, so guards put him in a restraint chair, “without resistance and for his own protection,” McDonough said.
Levert’s wrists were strapped to the chair and his feet were shackled to the floor. About 20 minutes later, he appeared “distressed” and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office and County Coroner are investigating. Sources also say that the Levert family have asked the Federal Bureau Of Investigation to investigate the death of Sean as a possible homicide.

A police affidavit quoted a family friend as saying the victim had a sexual relationship with her son that started when he was 8 or 9 years old. The affidavit also said Matthew Audet's wife Kayla, 19, told police that she, too, had a sexual relationship with Debra Audet.
According to the affidavit, Kayla Audet was preparing to leave her husband, and the pair had argued to the point of throwing their wedding bands against the apartment wall. She told police she later saw Matthew Audet choking his mother late Sunday on a mattress on the floor after the two had been drinking.

This is too funny right here. I don't know exactly what he was originally on probation for, but rapper Beanie Sigel is back in jail for another violation.
This time old boy got caught trying to give his probation officer somebody else's pee for his court ordered drug test. Ha Ha.
Beans has dropped dirty urine in the past, testing positive for Xanax and Percocet more than five times. He was already in a half-way house and had recently gotten his probation extended for leaving Philadelphia without permission. You know what, Beanie is probably happier in jail anyway.
